PHOENIXLAB IS ENGAGED IN PRECLINICAL RESEARCH IN THE FIELD OF INFLAMMATORY BOWEL DISEASES (IBD) AND OTHER INFLAMMATORY CONDITIONS, WITH THE AIM OF:
- UNDERSTAND the molecular and immunological mechanisms underlying chronic intestinal inflammation, such as Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative colitis, and other inflammatory conditions
- DEVELOP and VALIDATE predictive and translational preclinical models
- OPTIMIZE the discovery and evaluation of new therapies, integrating biomarkers, advanced technologies, and multidisciplinary approaches
OUR DAILY COMMITMENT IS TO BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN PRECLINICAL AND CLINICAL RESEARCH, IN SERVICE OF SCIENCE, INDUSTRY, AND – ABOVE ALL – PATIENTS
Our expertise stems from years of translational research and collaboration with biopharmaceutical companies and leading clinical centers. We support you in every phase of preclinical development, helping you design tailored experimental studies aimed at maximizing clinical relevance in IBD and reducing decision-making time
TOGETHER, WE TAKE YOUR PRECLINICAL RESEARCH PROGRAM IN IBD AND OTHER INFLAMMATORY DISEASES TO THE NEXT LEVEL
Our Services
what we do
Preclinical animal models of IBD
We select and customize the models based on the needs of the project, with the goal of producing reliable, reproducible, and clinically relevant results, thereby helping to bridge the gap between preclinical research and therapeutic application.
Preclinical models on tissues from patients with IBD
We integrate ex vivo models and organotypic cultures of human intestinal tissue into our preclinical studies, offering our partners highly customizable, reliable solutions that closely reflect the patient’s reality.
Other animal models of the digestive system and beyond
In addition to IBD, we develop and use models of other digestive system diseases and skin disorders. We also have models of colorectal and skin cancer available for studying the tumor microenvironment and response to drug treatments.
MULTIOMICS
We integrate MULTIOMIC analyses into our studies, with the goal of generating highly informative data, useful for supporting the discovery of new therapeutic targets, optimizing the drug development process, and predicting treatment response.

Scientific publications e Medical writing
We believe in open science and data quality. For this reason, we collaborate with academic and industrial institutions to produce solid evidence, intended for publication in high-impact scientific journals, actively contributing to the advancement of translational medicine.
who we are
LEADERS IN THE FIELD OF PRECLINICAL RESEARCH IN IBD
Founded in 2020 by Dr. Silvia D’Alessio, PhoenixLAB s.r.l.s was born from the meeting of experience and passion for preclinical research in the field of gastrointestinal diseases.
Our team specializes in the use of murine models of IBD, intestinal fibrosis, colorectal cancer, liver fibrosis, and skin diseases, with an integrated approach that includes endoscopic, histological techniques and gene expression analysis.
We also work with 3D ex vivo cultures of intestinal biopsies from IBD patients, FACS and multiomic analyses, and we provide support in drafting scientific articles, funding applications, and authorization protocols for ethics committees.
